Non-domestic assessor training: understanding the Level 3 and 4 route

What a prospective commercial energy assessor should consider before selecting the combined training route.

Non-domestic assessment asks you to look at a building as a system. Geometry, activity areas, lighting, heating and ventilation all affect the information that goes into a commercial energy model.

The combined Level 3 and 4 classroom route is designed to develop that technical understanding alongside portfolio evidence. Before booking, ask which building types and systems are covered, how assessment work is organised and what support follows the taught sessions. Think about the commercial property experience you can draw on while learning.

Completing training does not by itself grant professional accreditation. The work you can undertake afterwards depends on the relevant assessment and accreditation route. Energy Move can discuss the course structure, upcoming dates and current fee with you before you request a place.
